Me. I'm just a street kid. Riffraff of sorts. Went chasing after my best friend Nori, He's a serpent..or well he was. He'd been hurt see and he fell into this well. I darn near bit the broadsword there coughin' and splashing in the lake near the bottom. Nori was hurt bad. I thought he was gonna drop the shield when this old man comes outa nowhere. Says his name is Mimir. Claims I've been swiming in his well. Supposedly he's been waiting for me for a long time. I was a bit out of sorts what with my bloke being hurt and all. So he makes me a deal. He saves Nori and from time to time he'll ask me for favors. Small stuff like open a detective agency in the slums of Midgard. You know. Solve this crime. Protect this dame. As I didn't have much choice I shook on it. And that's how the smallest 9 year old in all of Midgard started working for the Norns.
Imagine a world that crosses the hard-boiled 1930's detective stories with the colorful myths and folktales of Norse lore. That's my city. We call it Midgard. It's not the easiest place to live. I mean anywhere that you could get axed by a 'zerker viking or sent on a one way boat ride just for being in the wrong place at the wrong time... well that's just not easy.
This city is overrun with crime and corruption.
Loki and Fenris fight it out on the streets in a gang war that doesn't make life any easier for your everyday citizen. The birds and dames look to Valhalla for help. Lot a good that will do them. Odin just sits up there in the Mayor's office trying to figure out how he can squeeze a little more shine out of the people while that golden boy Thor runs the flatfoots all over the city trying to solve crimes that are way over the poor hammerboy's head. Push comes to shove this city needs somebody that can ride with the valkries. Ya dig? Somebody that can bring down the grifters, grafters, cons and flimflams. There's lots of crime and bigmen don't want anyone muscling in on thier turf. So if you wanna make changes in Midgard. You have to think small. That's where I come in.
